The Question That Changed Everything
I am reminded still reminded of that morning in Yeadon, Pennsylvania, more often than I can count. I believe God allows the memory to remain vivid to keep me grounded in what truly matters.
It began in terror.
I was standing at a bus stop, simply waiting to go to work, when I found myself staring down the barrel of a gun held by three young men. They took my lunch—spaghetti and vegetarian meatballs—and my debit card, leaving me breathless and shaken. Moments later, a police cruiser dropped me off at my front door.
But the most life-altering part of that morning wasn't the robbery. It was what happened afterward, in the heavy silence of my home.
As I sat at the top of my stairs, watching the sun begin to brighten the sky, a voice broke through the quiet. It was distinct and audible.
"Would you have been saved?"
Startled and thinking I was alone, I blurted out, "What?"
Then the question returned, even more direct: "Had you died, would you have been saved?"
In that moment, the truth was undeniable. Despite being an active church member and serving in various capacities, I knew my life was not aligned with God’s revealed will. I hung my head and answered honestly: No.
That was my conversion moment—the second my focus shifted forever. It was the day my "walk" with God became a run toward His grace.
Today, I live with the unshakable knowledge that Heaven is real and that Jesus is actively preparing a place for us. My mission now is to share that hope with joyful anticipation. JasperEleven was born out of a desire to shout this truth far and wide until Jesus returns to take us home.
